Çok Çok Building
Istanbul, Turkey
The new Çok Çok Building is a redevelopment project on an existing building site conceived due to some structural integrity issues identified in the old building. The new building is a 6- storey tall structure with a mezzanine floor on the 1st storey, 2 basements as well as a roof terrace.
The building façade is inspired by the traditional bay windows seen in the architecture of the region yet interpreted in a modern way with the use of steel “I” profile columns and beams. The façade is also filled with greenery through the use of many planters and trellises. This is contrasted by the use of a local stone called Ah Lat as a cladding material.
