Atbara House, Singapore Botanic Gardens

Gallop Extension (2022)

A 1898 building, Atbara is believed to be the 1st Black & White house in Singapore, and is converted to become a Forest Discovery Centre as part of Gallop Extension in Singapore Botanical Gardens. The elevated floor is supported by beautiful Moorish cinquefoil arches and 30 round arches which have been carefully restored or integrated as part of the 1st storey experience. Upstairs, visitors can admire century old rooms that look out to expansive views of forests beyond via a new ramp that snakes through the back garden.
