The Sultan Hotel, Singapore (2012)

A distinctive 64-room boutique hotel, The Sultan, comprises 10 meticulously restored shop houses nestled within the historic Malay Arabic enclave of Kampong Glam. Among these units is a former Arabic Press House dating back to the early 1900s, situated in close proximity to the Royal Istana and the Grand Mosque. The Sultan Hotel was honored with the Singapore Heritage Awards in 2012.

Originally occupying separate spaces along Jalan Sultan and Aliwal Street, these 10 shophouses were reimagined to foster connectivity and vitality. By bridging the physical gap with a revitalized alleyway, the design concept encourages visitors to perceive the development as a unified whole, both in its physical structure and experiential essence.

Beyond providing accommodations, The Sultan Hotel embraces Malay Arabic themed interiors and a selection of food and beverage establishments. These features serve to deepen the hotel's connection to the rich historical tapestry of Kampong Glam.
